Solidworks file compression

What was the name of the utility that took all the cr*p out of the solidworks files and reduced them in size. We would like to run the utility prior to archiving our files...Thanks

Remember to consider how you want to look into your archive. If you want to use 'view only' or the SWx viewer, you need to leave the 'display list' in the file (which is unfortunate because that is a big chunk of the data - except, oddly, in 2006. I haven't seen a drop in file size with the removal of the display list lately). I always leave in the 'preview image' - its small, and just-too-useful when searching for a part using the preview in the open dialog.

Bottom line - probably a good move to test what happens first (to file size and to what you loose) before comitting.
