HO Tichy windows and doors?

Jan 20, 2005 7 Replies

Hi again

Does anyone out there have any Tichy windows and doors they no longer require? I have seen these online though would love to see them in the flesh to get a feel for their accuracy. Happy to pay for them and mailing, if folks have leftovers

Thanks

Steve Australia

If you have Grandt doors and windows, they are the same. And some are interchangeable as indicated on the Tichy site.

Hi CT

Thanks for responding

Unfortunately we have to "mail-order" all such things because, as far as I am aware, neither Tichy or Grandt are available here, downunder. it's a great shame because they look like brilliant products!

You are correct in that assumption. The Grandt Line and Tichy lines are among the best of plastic model products. They are often rather delicate, however, due to the small sizes and thin sections of many of their parts.

I haven't any Tichy parts to spare and most of them are KC brake sets anyway. They are nicely made and equal to Grandt Line parts in quality. Bruce

They are excellent products, and they are available in Australia. Gary at the Model Railroad Craftsman in Blacktown, NSW, carries a very large range of both Tichy/CMA and Grandt Line. His website is at:

All the best,

G'day Steve,

I suggest that you phone or visit Rail N'thusiast in Surrey Hills (Vic). They have a pretty wide range of bits and pieces you might like to check out, although I can't say just what for sure (I haven't been over there for a while). Despite the "N"ame, they also have a lot of HO stuff.

Regards, Ron McF

Thanks everyone for the responses and assistance - I will be travelling into Melbourne (Australia) to seek out these bits in earnest!

I was pleasantly surprised today to see AND hear both a steam and diesel loco in full operation with its DCC running and everything - what a pretty sight/sound

Also surprising was my ability to get Romford Wheels for my Stirling Single projects!

all in all a good day

:)

Steve
