I belong to a number of MR-related Yahoo groups, for precisely that reason - they are quite specialised. But, as interesting as they are, they can't compare with the cut and thrust of r.m.r!

I'm not a frequent contributor for various reasons, but that still doesn't change the fact that signal-to-noise ratio is very poor here.
It is not me - just check 100 mesage's subjects and see what the ratio is. And that is just the subject lines - doesn't include all of the OT stuff within good threads. "Slip switiches" is a prime example of such a thread.
