Why is it so quiet, has everybody locked themselves into their workshops to
play with their sodbury purchases? Come on, this NG is one of the few things
which stops me going completely round the twist at work :-{
Hi Nick, I've been quiet because I've been so busy with the farm in my spare
time and haven't run an engine in weeks. Also some sod somewhere decided
that we would have no rallies in the Winter. The cheek of him!
However, things are going to change because
(a) the piston rings for the 4hp Bamford arrived in the post last night. So
I can bore you with the details of fitting them and getting it running.
(b) I've got another New Way engine coming from the States due to arrive in
a couple of weeks, and hopefully I'll bore you rigid with New Way info.
There might even be an SEM article in it.
(c) I will probably take on another engine recruit in December when my
pocket recovers from recent trauma. Details, photos and idle bragging will
take place then.
(d) once the tups are in with the ewes (2 and a half weeks time), I've got
nothing much to do for a few weeks.
(e) almost forgot, a few of us are going up to the Anson on Sunday 26th for
their last engine running weekend of the year. Those of you who haven't got
in touch, do so now!
(d) and why stop now, I will soon have finished machining the castings for
the replica Bamford trolley and will then rebuild the 2hp onto it's shiny
new trolley. In the meantim, I'll have to suss out how to machine little
end bushes.
So everyone else, what's on your agenda for the next few months?
Regards,
Arthur G
I'm quiet because I?m frantically decorating the front room as an "effort
present" for Hazel (who?s birthday is soon) whilst she's in Venice with her
mate for this week.
Moral high ground, here I come - ought to be worth at least two more engines
;o))
Very worthy Kim (despite ulterior motive!). The number of house related on
my list is exceeded only by the engine related projects. I really need a
lottery win so I can join the seven day weekend brigade ;-)
If you do win the lottery, Nick, don't buy a farm, or you'll be joining the
seven day working week brigade.
Also, you'll have to learn to complain more :-)
Regards,
Arthur G
