OT:- Wanted - Pel-Job digger manual

Info for any particular bit of it, or are you the new owner ? :-))

I'm the new owner ;-) I can make it do most of the things it's supposed to, but it would be nice to have a bit of documentation on maintenance etc. Also there's a hydraulic foot control which has some hidden purpose. The previous owner didn't know what it was supposed to do, either!

Pel-Job are a French firm, their mini diggers are sold under the Volvo brand now. This particular machine is early 1990's, 2.2 tonne. Quite tidy & low hours for its age.

The foot control is generally for activating the hydraulic breaker when fitted. N.B. the machine may not necessarily be piped up for a breaker. See

It is piped up for a breaker, but that has a separate foot control. The mystery one appears to be a 2-way pedal (L, R, Neutral)

Another good effort, but unfortunately wrong

There's a manual changeover valve so that the same joystick movement controls one form of slewing or the other. There's no visible effect when the pedal is operated, but the hydraulics can be heard to be loaded.

I drove a digger once and that pedal was for the variable track width adjustment. An adjustable track width is quite a rare feature on a digger, if you've got it then you're very lucky.

Sadly the track width appears firmly fixed, I did wonder about that one. Would have been handy, just spent a couple of hours shifting stuff to be able to get the machine into the garden.
