Depot logo transfers?

Apr 05, 2004 2 Replies

Could anyone point me in the direction of specific transfer sheets for the depot 'mascot' logos which were quite common in the 80's? I'm specifically after the Eastfields 'scottie dog' for a cl.27, but would also be interested to find the highland stag, and the Stratford 'cockney sparrow'. I'm assuming it would be most likely to find them in packs for specific classes, but I cannot find one anywhere for the cl.27. Not having seen the sheets themselves, the lists from Fox and Modelmaster arent that much help when trying to find this detail!

Many thanks for any help! Justin Colson

Hi Justin,

All the above available on Fox Transfers sheet F4366

Don't *think* Fox do those (could be wrong) but Replica used to do a sheet with Cockney Sparrows.

Fox deffinitely do an entire sheet, at least they do for 2mm scale, which contains depot motifs, big "Double Arrows" for large-logo livery, Highland stags and so on. They don't do any packs for specific classes of locomotive, at least not for the generic liveries.

If you are attending a model railway exhibition soon (ie: York) then the best thing to do is just go and ask at the Fox stand. Hardly an event goes by without me buying at least one packet of transfers and in my experience they're always knowledgable (is that a word?) and helpful.

HTH.
