Hornby's folly for 2009?...

Thats a cruel trick to be played on a Black 5, couldnt you persuade him to have a B1 instead. :-) At Burton last year saw a large scale (G ?) Stanier 2-6-0T work of art that took the owners father many years to build. Was confused at first in trying to identify it as it was in LMS red - which dont think they ever carried. However it 'looked' right in that livery, hence initial confusion.

Did the LMS have any 2-6-0 tanks, Stanier or otherwise?...

Oh b????, not of Stanier design. We went to see thomas the tank today, good time but am brain dead. Yep should read 2-6-2.

At least one. Ex- Garstang and Knott End Railway, which was the smallest of the constituents at grouping.

Seems to be a unique and lonely engine that didnt stay in LMS for very long.
