I have a Hornby uncoupler that refuses to be fitted into a straight piece of semi flex track. Anyone have any ideas to help ?
Essentially, I can get one end to fit properly, but the other end refuses to be fitted.

Sleeper spacing ? Sometimes the sleepers can move slightly along the track.
Cut away bits of sleeper at both ends till it fits. Or cut the web between the sleepers at each end, and move the sleeprs around till it fits.

Although unrefined in appearance, Hornby couplings do work quite well on relatively small radius curves. Would Kadees do as well in these circumstances?

I've had no trouble with them.
What's the actual practical minimum radius, then? I'm assuming the answer won't be "Setrack First Radius". I'm sure there's a recommended minimum, but I'd like to know how far the technology's been pushed without huge modification.

No it's not first radius; I'm sure it's much less than that.
I'll have to look it up, which might take a while.
Depends on what shank length you use, and how you mount them.
The smallest radius of Atlas rigid track is 15in.
Have you thought of cutting fexible transparent plastic into strips and using that instead?

This is what I use currently - it works reasonably well although needs constant adjustment to avoid working too well. I realise you can disguise the magnets and perhaps don't need all that many for a plank layout, but more visible magnets are one of the things that put me off Kadees.
