Taking the bodyshell off a Lima 66

Does anyone know how to do this? There doesn't seem to be any obvious way to pop the bodyshell off, and I'd rather not break my newest loco trying to get it open (needs one of the cab windows pushing back in place).

This is not easy, Rich. There are body-side clips and one nasty clip at each end.

You will need to try and unclip the body-sides and slide a thin piece of plastic between the chassis and body. Having done that, you will then need to unclip the center end-fixings....thin sliver of plastic between the front ends and the chassis.

Don't be tempted to use a screw-driver and DON'T press on the buffers or you're likely to break the fitting completely.

Once you've removed the body, either remove the end half-arrow type clips or file them down slightly and smear with suitable grease for easy future removal.

Regards,

Colin.
