I have a new Jackson Nexgen EQC. When I am TIG welding is works properly. However when I am looking at some one else weld the lens will not auto darken or will turn on and off. If I wave my hand over the front of the hood the unit will turn on again.(Darken) I am using a shade 10 setting. The sensitivity is set to 1 and the delay is set to 10. Is this normal? Should I call Jackson?

Try setting the sensitivity to 6 and the delay to 5. I think it will work better. The numbers are counter intuitive. On the sensitivity setting 1 is LESS sensitive than 10. On Delay each number represents 0.1 second, so a 5 is 0.5 second, and a
10 is 1.0 second.Thanks Ernie,
I used the helmet(With the new settings.) last night and was able to watch other people in the shop welding. This is great fun.
