Part 8
You will notice that I have not mentioned joining the wing halves yet. There are several things to do prior. You have already mounted the engine mounts and pre-drilled the holes so that is done. You have also set the gas tanks and left fuel line out the hole in the firewall. You have also fitted the gas tank hatch and servo hatch covers as well as center the servos and set the throttle servo to a closed position. There is one more cover that must be made for the rear end of the nacelle and you will need 1/16 balsa that will probably have to be edge glued unless you have a 4 inch wide piece. The plans do not show it but you will need to make a small light play former to go across the end of the nacelle fitted inside the nacelle doubler and even with the ridge that the hatch covers are screwed into. This is a flaw in the plan as you need to be able to take this cover off to set the aileron control rod properly. Once you have both push rods connected and in the third hatch cover, screw it down and the nacelles are finished. It is much easier to do all the above on a half wing.
