SolidCAM 2009 At SolidWorks World.

Hope the SolidCAM booth is nowhere near CNC Software's booth at SolidWorks World because it looks to me like SolidCAM 2009 is just as impressive, if not more so, than SolidCAM 2008 R12. SolidCAM R12 was easily the most impressive CAM release last year. See the Jon Banquer blog for more details on why SolidCAM 2008 R12 was such an impressive release.

SolidCAM 2009 will be fast and it will have toolpath editing!

I stopped judging cam and cad products based on power...ease of use, etc... These days I tend to look more at price and availability of training data, as well as an ability to get cracked versions for at home.

My reasons are honest for the cracked versions...how the hell am I going to learn something when I'm expected to produce like a good little slave, and the equipment is used 24 hours a day? Nobody has ever sent me to school to learn their cam system when hired, nor have I received upfront training of any kind. Nothing is ever documented, and usually your replacing the only guy who knew anything about it. I fully understand the whole "learn as you go" gimmic, but it cam be a bit overwheling MOST of the time. Price is important because I live in the richest country on Earth but work in the poorest country. Folks are looking to save 500bucks on stuff they use to cut million dollar projects. If it's cheap I might get to touch it. That seems to be the theme last decade or so. Training data is important. I learned xsi totally thru user videos on youtube and other video sites. If I had that kind of resource for mastercam I would be a cammin some bitch! Those videos, like thousands of them were made by superusers, lamers, bussinesses, men/women, other languages, etc... What a great range of training that was. Ten times more than even solidworks videos.

Solidcam 2009...too expensive, no cracked version, and there doesn't seem to be much online data from doing a quick google search. Hell...I'll never see that stuff, your just torturing me posting how kickass it is.

Mastercam 9.1, soliworks 2007 sp0, and notepad with a gforce 5!!! Oh yah !!!! Watch out china!
