I had a gun pulled on me tonight

Tonight was weird. No calls for 4 hours and then when I was unlocking the first car I got a call to get the keys out of the trunk of a Nissan.

When I got to the keys in the trunk call I opted not to open the car and was leaving and ended up with some black punk pulling a pistol out of his pants and trying to rob me but I guess I was lucky as he seemed to hesitate to point it when their was traffic on the street.

I called every locksmith in the book and spread the warning, one guy was three blocks away when his dispatcher reached him.

I was doing a job rekeying the house of a recently deceased lady, "so the thieving relatives couldn't go in and steal everything before the will was probated." (works from the executor of the estate) at about

3AM.

One of the relatives showed up to take the dead lady's 65 Mustang and go pissed when I wouldn't open the garage for him. He showed me the pistol he had in his waste band and smiled. I showed him the business end of my SigSauer .40. He left and came back with the police. I have a CCW permit, he didn't. Off to jail he went. for suspicion of attempted robbery, attempted GTA and carrying a concealed firearm without a permit.

That's the one and only time anyone has threatened me with a firearm while working as a locksmith. I still carry it anytime I go into a suspect area or after dark.
