Key-alike Kwikset + Emtek?

I currently have 2 Kwikset deadbolts that I purchased approx. 7 years ago. Can I get a new Emtek with a Schlage "C" keyway keyed to fit the Kwiksets?

fit the Kwiksets?

no, would suggest replacing those Kwiksets with the better Schlage dead-bolts.

Key

No. Kwikset and Schlage are different keyways.

Or you can get Kwikset deadbolts with the Kw keyway.

Really? A Kwikset deadbolt that actually uses the Kwikset keyway?

As somebody already pointed out you can get the SC1 keyway in a Kwikset plug.

Costs two bucks extra, though. Special order, 8 weeks. For you, six weeks. I'll call and have an in plant rush.

I've keyed Titans with SC-1 keyway. I've also seen Weiser composite keyway plugs (after market) for the Schlage A and D series.

So, it isn't hopeless. You just have to be determined to mix brands and keep the keys.

Stormin what are you babbling about here? Do you even know? You quoted me but also where I quoted you so maybe this is one of those posts where you are talking to yourself again. One thing is for sure the guys, and at least one lady in HVAC have you pegged.

Yep, I know what I'm talking about. It's called dripping sarcasm. Obviously, though, you don't know.

OK, another thread I'm killfiling.

Folks, _please_ take the arguments about personalities offline -- send each other e-mail if you must -- rather than posting 'em here. It just makes _both_ sides look bad.

Chris you seldom have a clue what you are talking about. Maybe that's why so many posts appear where you seem to be talking to yourself. Did you ever fix those peoples door after you decided to break it open? Last I heard you were trying to figure out how to weasle out of responsibility on that one.
