Another tool ID needed XXI

Looks like a shoe tap to me.

It's not a tap, but a lot of people did guess that.

Is that for "professional pipe smokers", or do really keen amateur pipe smokers send their bowls out to have them professionally reamed ?

I don't know what 186 is, but 185 is a cutter and stripper for wire-wrap wire. I think that you'll even find "O.K. Machine and Tool Co." printed on the other side of the orange plastic on the handles.

Interesting geared linkage in the pliers in #188. They appear to have a wire-cutting section, but other than that, I don't know.

Well, I had another look and got a later version with 186 visible. maybe it was cached somewhere.

The only thing written on the handles is R3907, otherwise your answer is correct.

This one isn't for expanding the ID of tubes.

It puts a good crimp in a wire but there isn't a sharp edge and it didn't cut the wire when I tried it.

Man, I'll bet you have a ball at flea markets and garage sales! :)

I never go to garage sales but I hit the flea market every weekend, I do enjoy it but I have to look at *a lot* of junk to find the good stuff.

Not to take away from RH's excellent site, but I've just acquired a box of stuff. Can anyone tell me what this is? This is not a puzzle. You won't get an answer from me.

The vertical is one piece. The arms are independent of each other and may be moved in either direction. There are just enough imperfections to make me believe it is handmade. One, being the hand peened pivot pin. The only marking is, I assume, the maker/owner's name; Charles Schiht stamped on the lower "handle" of the vertical piece.

It's a wood turner's double caliper. You can have two different measures on it (big and small end of a leg taper for example) so you don't have return to your standard as much. I've also seen them used in bowl turning, but I forget quite how.
