Why so many OT subjects?

That's the point isn't it? That the OT stuff is just another topic for you to decide whether or not to look at. If you're interested open the thread, if not, then go past it just like you would any other post you don't care about. What's the big deal.? If you aren't interested in a subject just ignore it. I suppose some people just have to bitch about everything.

If only there was a way to identify Off Topic posts, and perhaps even automatically not display them. If, only...

Or they sit there for hours nursing a single cup of cold coffee, while people are waiting for a table. Its getting really bad here in Central Florida, with all the snowbird retirees who have all day to waste and seem to go out of their way to make it impossible for working people to have a sit down meal at a restaurant. Being a few miles from "The Villages" doesn't help. either. :(

What, that he's too stupid, stubborn, or ignorant to filter subject lines with OT in them?

Several posts have mentioned just such an entity, yes. Can you answer me, though, and tell me why YOU don't just filter out threads with "OT" in the subject line? It's really not complicated. Instead of just ignoring things you don't want, automatically and painlessly, you choose to butt into conversations to tell people you don't want to participate in them. A bit rude, don't you think?

Sure. Try

Seems to be to complicated to understand that all of you OTers are killing this group.

** Watch for the side of branch you sit on and saw! **

And if you are clever enough to give that tip with filtering on "OT", you surely know how this is done when reading through groups.google.com.

Google groups doesn't have kill filters, so he can't filter out anything.

Well that's a self-imposed problem, isn't it? He's choosing not to filter, however you look at it.

Either that, or he's not smart enough to find a real news server.
