24mm. Snitch?

I've been toying with the idea of modifying my trusty old Snitch by cutting out the MMT and installing a 24mm. one wqith the hopes of flying it on an E motor (it ROCKS on an AT D reload!).

Any thoughts?

Go for it. I've seen them fly on 29mm I200's and 38mm motors. Perfectly stable with no needed recovey.

You can also CHAD stage the Estes motors.. Ive seen D12 to D12 to C6.. Make sure its a calm day though.

You need to speak to "Dangerous" Dan McCullough. He is an expert in the field of Snitch modification.

It should work fine. I had one of the foam Intruder/Invader that I converted from 13mm to 24mm and flew on D12s for years until I lost it in tall grass. And an upscale of George Gassaway's TriFO that I fly on D12 and E9 all the time.

The key to ANY of these very draggy rockets is to use a slow burn low thrust motor. THe D3 may not cut it, but the D13 will do better than the D21. In

24mm the E9 is ideal, as are the E11 and F12 reloads.

Why not just just get an Art Applewhite Saucer? I just built one of his

24mm suacers tonight. He has them currently up through 38mm. Very easy construction, especially the delta line. I was flying with Art yesterday, and it amazes me how well his kits fly, although we get to see his prototypes as well, and some of those can be pretty funny. All in all, great kits. There are some reviews on EMRR as well. Check it out at

I flew my saucers this weekend. I've posted videos to abmr of my 23" diameter medium saucer on a 54 mm K160 and the large (40") on a 98 mm N775.

Enjoy- Tom

Mark , I will not be making it to LDRS. But I will put out the challenge for next year's LDRS. I will have my new snitch ready by then. And it will have a parachute.
