Hobby Lobby 50% off rockets

They will absolutely match anybody's price on the exact same items they normally carry.

Go back and ask for the manager. If they carry the exact same item, company policy is to match it. It works the same way at Lowes or Home Depot but you will have to show them the ad. That's normal business practice.

Eventually I'll get over to a BRB launch. Maybe I'll have it done by then (I just in the last five minutes changed the design to something akin to a very utilitarian looking Mars Snooper II).

Like I said....you have Walmarts that are way-way-way-above average..lol.

Michael's....so sad....they *used* to be such a good chain, for hobby supplies.

Thanks, after watching this thread all week, I broke down and picked up a bunch of X-prize rockets.

Best of all was the total lack of abuse from my SO, adding a couple of cross stitch kits (on clearance) and I was golden.

I've never seen a Walmart with anything but starter kits and motors. Maybe a few RTF rockets if you're lucky.

Maybe Walmarts in other areas are different from the ones I have seen.

Many/most stores with price matching policies such as Home Depot have an exclusion in the policy for percent off sales. They will usually match percent off if they have the exact same model as the other store. They generally won't match prices across an entire department for percent off sales.

Yeah, did that myself with the 'Bird...but be advised, redo the fins so they're TTW, and be sure to add weight to payload bay, or you'll never get both parts back. Trust me. :)

Yeah, I had planned on the TTW....and even the kit instructions warn against flying with a "C", and an empty payload bay....

JThe Baby Bertha's came out to $3.39 each.

If you will notice on the Baby Bertha packaging, it's made in China..

Had to check:

Estes Baby Bertha - Made in China Estes Patriot - Made in China Quest Big Betty - Made in China

There's some kind of weird irony here. The Estes black powder rocket motors are made in the USA.

At a rocket launch this weekend I talked to someone who works at a hobby store. Estes makes everything in China now except motors.

Estes is planning to stop including motors in some or all starter kits as the motors have to be added here in the USA.

What other than maybe a "Launchable"?

I've never seen that. I've heard reports locally that some stores stocks can get depleted during the sale. Particyularly the ones near me :-)

I've seen the "Lunchables" kits before.

No Hobby Lobby in the area, darnit.

Sounds like you need to go "up the food chain"

Prosecute? Did they say what fictitious crime they would charge you with? That almost makes me want to do it on PURPOSE...

So where are the Estes scale model kits of Chinese launch vehicles like the Long March? Please less whining, more lemon aid.
