Status of buying I-K motors mail order?

The problem, sir, is that you accept the "current environment" as a foregone conclusion.

So you're saying that what really matters is "not to get called a Terrorist" by the Government? Look, I already know that I'm _so_ not a Terrorist that it would be bloody un-American of me to go running around worrying about the government might think I am...

"Oh my god, he did something illegal, and worse, he actually got caught and took some lumps from the government for it! Let's all shun him as some kind of Disreputable Scoundrel because he -gasp- Broke The Law!" Is that how you expect people to react to you over the situation?

I've seen freeways around here where if you went much slower than 70 in the 65 zone, you would most likely get pulled over for "blocking traffic".

It's clear that your were raised to be a spoiled brat. "Ignore the rule if you don't like it, and then claim you were in the right based on your own opinion".. Kind of stuck on yourself there Dave.... You sound like Skippy......

Be a man.. you break the rule "of society" and be man enough to:

1) admit it and pay the price 2) work thru proper channels to change it 3) stop whining

"I think the speed limit in a school zone should be 55 and not 25, as little kids can run fast and get out of the way, and the road was built for atleast

  1. I'm a good driver, and that crossing guard can't give me a ticket! Heck, even if the cops were here, they'd probably be just kicking some of the money back to the school! I got no kids, so I'll make my own speed limit! It's not wrong!"

He cannot understand. Tell him as if he were a child.

I am about to find out. I predict NAR/TRA refuses to check. But they do appease. Really well!

An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile - hoping it will eat him last.

Granted Dave, there are things that have happened in the US (by our elected folks) that don't make a heck of a lot of sense. (Vietnam for one), but that's the beauty of a republic.. Those that did "bozo stuff" and, do, get removed from office!

Putting you head in the sand and just saying "I don't like that, so I'll ignore it" is the cheap way out.. "Taking your ball and going home" is what it says!

We all know that the "War against Drugs" was nothing more than political BS...

Vietnam - can you find anybody today that thinks that was a "good thing"? Anybody still in office that backed it?

Iraq... Still cooking, but it seems that public opinion on this one is turning to "against".. Remember, Bush Sr. lost re-election after round one.

Kent State? Some 18 yo kids over reacted - on both sides. It was a shame, but I don't think it was a government plot!

Waco... Dealt with wackos. Why not include Jim Jones and his kool-aid crowd!

Watergate.. Humm, let me see.. That seemed to result in Tricky Dick resigning.. Now why was this a bad thing?

You seem to think the world is out to get you, just because the would won't play by your rules..... Heck... I'm glad I live in a republic, so we're not forced to have someone with your narrow view incharge for whatever you think your term should be!

Hey, don't hit those kids when you're doing 55 in a school zone!

Yes, which was that "fully assembled rocket motors" are Propellent Actuated Devices.

So do I.

Not according to the ATF, anyway. They rightfully _should_ be, though.

Duh. That's what I've been saying all along! How many more times do I have to say it before you'll finally catch on??? Reloads are not PADs. Nailgun cartridges aren't PAITs -- but they're still exempt. So should reloads for PADs be exempt.

BTW, if you read it closely you'll see that the legal team did NOT say that reloads _couldn't_ be exempt, only that this isn't the right time to press the issue.

Of course not. The ATF doesn't want to compare PADs to PAITs, or reloads to cartridges, because that would spoil their plan to regulate rocketry.

Do I think it's wrong if the DOT finds Osama Bin Skippy shipping "explosives" with out the proper paperwork and disguised as "model airplane parts"? NO

Would I mind if the the DOT told the BATF about the violation they found? NO

Is it bad that a US Citizen can be locked up in the US, because someone thinks they are a "terrorist". Heck YES!!!!! But that's due to Bush and his crew... Talk to me again after the election. That's what a republic is all about!

"So you're saying that what really matters is "not to get called a Terrorist" by the Government? "

Never said that.. What I said is that you can't be a self centered twit and expect any sympathy! The laws are as they are, and they can be changed, but ignoring them and just claiming "illegal but not wrong" very rarely does a darn thing other than making a 2 minute piece on the 10pm news, where

1000's see it and say, "what was that guy thinking? He knew the rules!"

"I already know that I'm _so_ not a Terrorist "

Well Dave, I'm happy that you think that. I too am not a Terrorist! But what about the guy down the street that tries to buy a large amount of explosives without a permit, and was shipped to him as "model airplane parts"? BTW, Saddam My Neighbor got fired from the Post Office for being "too agressive" against others, and just got fired.....

The rules aren't made only due to you Dave! Get off this "me,me,me!" frame of mind! How the heck would the govenement know "Dave W" from "Saddam My Neighbor" unless there were permits, etc?

conclusion!

No num nuts.. I'm just saying that I was a man and admitted that I knew I did wrong (by law)

I didn't try some self centered tyrate that tried to blame the law, the government, and everyone else possible for my own error. I didn't try a "I don't like that law, so I'll just ignore it, and if I get caught, it's not my fault, as the law was bad! (wahhhhhhhhhhhh)"

Not necessarily. In fact, it's pretty common these days for laws themselves to be wrong. Yes, if you break those laws you will be doing something illegal, but you'd not be doing something wrong.

Most of the time, but sometimes it's simply illegal.

Duh. Doesn't mean you have like it though, nor do you have to accept a bad law as being "good" simply because it's the law.

The law is not an arbiter of right and wrong. It only decides what is legal and what is illegal. Most of the time the two coincide, but not always.

The are plenty things you can do which are morally wrong but perfectly legal. And there are some things which are morally right but also illegal.

Judge said "if those ATF boys give you any trouble 'bout your paperwork 'fore they got _their_ paperwork sorted out, come back and talk to me and I can write up an injunction for y'all...": sounds like he'd rather not go that far unless there's a specific need, but I doubt the BATFE would find much sympathy from him for an argument that an exempt device "only became exempt when fully assembled" or that its final manufacture in the field, from purpose-specific components, was not equally exempted as its purchase and use... doesn't sound like we're _totally_ "stuck with their interpretation" in this specific case.

"Is it bad that a US Citizen can be locked up in the US, because someone thinks they are a "terrorist". Heck YES!!!!!"

So is your "Osama Bin Skippy" comment supposed to imply that Jerry is a terrorist, or that he is as bad as a terrorist?

I think you're looking for rec.militia.koresh

Like "permits" are gonna solve that problem? It's not like a "history of suicide bombings" is going to appear on Neighbor McVeigh's "Background Check" when he applies for a permit he only expects to use once!

What was this thread about again?

Like "society", per se, is automatically "right"?

Correct. If you get popped for violating a speed trap, for example, it may be "according to the law" but it's still chickenshit.

(And if a law is commonly violated, that may in itself apply pressure for change: we no longer have a 55mph National Maximum Speed Limit - because enough people "voted with the throttle".)

-dave w

That's not an actual newsgroup.

And yes, you can claim "ha ha made you look" points off of me for that one! :)
