Get a clue. I don't care. Tripoli is 2500 screaming whiners. Anything I do in connection with Tripoli is to support rocketry generally, especially outside of TRA. TRA itself has so many internal problems and destructive feedback loops it probably cannot be fixed. I have tried. From the inside.
Remember I was there all along.

Plenty listen. A minority troll.
You are in the minority.

Factual.
Ummmmm, Joe? What about Bobby B? He'll be there...
Hi Gene. Yea, he'll probably be there but I don't like buying at the time of launch. First, you are hoping that the vendor will have what you want at the launch and hope he still has some left when you get there. Second, you never know exactly what you can fly until you get there. Third, there is the problem of what happens if you buy and build a motor at the launch but for some reason can't fly it. What do you do, give the vendor your assembled motor casing for "next time"? Fourth, depending on the weather and family commitments, I don't know what days I will be there. Fifth, I'd like to stock up so I can fly some of the bigger stuff at METRA launches too.
Also, I like having the motors ahead of time so I can pre-build and be ready to fly once I get to the field. And I just like showing what a large motor looks like to my friends when they come over to my house.
Bobby is a great guy, I buy from him all the time ,and I'll end up buying stuff from him there I am sure but it probably won't be any big motors.

One advantage to buying at the launch is that it saves on shipping costs. Although, if you're lucky enough to have a vendor who lives in the area, you can avoid shipping without even going to a launch. :)
Yep. Sometimes I don't know whether I'll be going to a launch or not until a few hours before I leave.
Plus it requires that a vendor attend the launch. Its hard to convince a vendor to drive 100+ miles to attend a 5 person launch.
Hence the need for lone rangerism.
Boy, this is a hard newsgroup....

ROFL, Galaxy Quest quote.
But of course, with the proper level of terrorist permit.
Type 1 "A type 1 terrorist permit will allow acts of terrorism limited to name calling, idle threats, e-mail bombs, and lewd gestures. The permit fee is $10 and requires a signature only."
Type 2 "A type 2 permittee may engage in any activity that may seem "scary" to the general public. This would include, but is not limited to; Jet skiing; Yelling while jumping out of an airplane; Pretending to leap onto the freeway with that "made ya look" face; Remote control anything; Riding a dirt bike "willy nilly" and planting vegetables in non-organized row fashion."
A photo ID is required for this type terrorism. Permit fee is $20 per year.
Type 3 "A type 3 terrorist permit is the highest level. Type 3 terrorism is limited to those activities which could actually cause harm to a government agency's reputation. Any activity that would cause a layoff of personell or cut-back in funding is type 3 terrorism."
Fingerprints, hair sample, birth certificate, mother's maiden name, name of favorite pet, social security number, sworn on-a-stack-a-bibles statement, saliva sample, stool sample, and forfiture of all your rights are required to obtain this permit.
There is no fee. You will be thrown in jail after fully completing the application.
:>)
Yes. Right until the moment of the terrorist act :)
Intended use :)
