Air: Looking for 1/72 KC-135

Hi:

I have looked high and low and I cannot find the above kit. Is anybody willing to part with the Heller or AMT kit of either the A or R model stratotanker or knows where I can buy one?

I have been on eBay, checked collections, hobby shops, and model shows with no luck. I have a friend who is retiring at the end of the year and he started on the stratotankers when he joined the USAF and will be retiring from C130's. The tanker was his favorite and I wanted to build one as a retirement gift.

Any assistance is geatly appreciated.

Thanx, Carl

They are tough to find these days. With AMT gone and no indications that anyone is going to pickup their molds to rerelease the -135 family means everyone who has one is hold it tight. I too could use another one, but I think I missed them at the $50 window, the last one I saw was fetching $100+. I wish you luck. You might have better luck finding a repop of the Revell classic in 1:144.

I, fortunately, live about 40 miles north of Dyersville, IA, where they had their outlet store. Got a bunch for $5.00 a pop. I've built five of them so far, and have several left in my to build stack. Sold an R, an E and an A, as well as an EC-135C and an RC-135. Had I but known the price was going up....

Once upon a time they were stacked up at the local Ollie's and going for $5. I bought one and then decided to skip building it (Where the heck would I park it?). They weren't bringing big prices then as 'everybody' had them. I probably got my money back but not much more when I sold it.

Parking is certainly a problem. I have this very large wall, where I hang 'em nose down... Kind of like 1/72nd scale wallpaper...

I saw the Heller kit at Greenfield News & Hobby (Milwaukee, WI) just yesterday. You might want to contact them direct.
