B-17 Squadron and aircraft codes

I'm trying to find number and letter decals for my B-17. The aircraft is from the 527sq 379bw, based at Kimbolton in 1943. Here's what I need:

36" light gray (sky) letters for the squadron code and aircraft letters.

My uncle flew three different B-17Fs at Kimbolton, and I'm going to model one of those. I'm going to Alps print the 397bw code Triangle K myself, but I figure the gray will look better as "real" decals.

Back about [mumble] years ago when I was a teenager, MicroScale used to have sheets like this, but I haven't found any at the usual online shops.

Thanks!

Eaglestrike makes white, black, and yellow letters and numbers in 1/48 scale. Aeromaster does the same in 1/72. Don't know about any gray sheets - you may have to copy 8AF practice and overpaint white. Go to Eaglestrike's web site to see the sheets:

Hi Peter, Didn't find grey, you should look in craft or graphic art supplies shops. Like Charrette or even Staples. They usually carry lettering sets ans stencils.

No grey but these folks make some fine dry tranfer sheets!

Why not try painting the code area of the aircraft with the colour required. Apply suitable rub on codes. apply the camouflage colour over and remove the rub down codes after its all dry. - Authentic painted code - voila
