I took the plunge for my first airbrush and bought the Badger 350-3 today. I'll use it on a compressor instead of the propel can. I got the whole unit at Michaels with one of their 50% off coupons so I paid $27.50 + tax shich I thought was reasonable enough. Seems like from the recommendation I got and from what I've read in threads and dug up on the 'net that it should be a good one for a beginner. Now to do more reading so I know how to operate and clean it BEFORE I try it out. We shall see what other pearls of wisdom the 'net and the books I have hold. Grandpa John

Uhhhh what you really want to do is TRY IT OUT...
Find some old model and practice with actual paint on that. Once ya get the feel of going over round surfaces, and getting into tight corners, you are ready for whatever kit ya want
FWIW A good first project is to paint an empty 1 or 2 liter soda bottle. Makes a real cheap learning project.

If you have never used an airbrush before, you will be surprised at how thin the paint has to be. Once you thin it for spraying, it's too thin to brush. Way too thin. If you have a problem spraying, it will probably be because the paint's too thick.
