Color of the MiG-25

I got me the re-issued kit of the Revell (now Germany) 1/48 MiG-25 Foxbat. Now I need to now what is the overall color of the plane. Which is it? the FS or some other color?

Please help me on this...

Comparing a picture of a recon Foxbat from World Air Power Journal to the paint chart from a Testors flyer...FS 16473 (Aircraft Gray), FS 36622 (Camo Gray) and FS 36495 (Light Gray) all look to be good matches for the overall color.

Unfortunately I don't have a MiG-25 in my backyard, so I cannot check with federal standard paint chips (but this could be a good idea if I ever win the lottery), anyway it's a light gray: I think FS 36495 is a good match (Humbrol 147, Gunze 338).

Personally, I think that Humbrol 147, an off-white, is too light under most lighting condition. I painted my old Revell kit with Humbrol 146 Aircraft Grey (now discontinued), Humbrol 005 for the radome, Humbrol

027 (or 125?) for the dielectric panels and it came out quite nice. Some a/cs, though, seem to have a lighter, more yellowish grey painted under the rear fuselage, à la MiG-23.

Could be true for a factory fresh finish, however (because of harsh weather and low paintjob maintenance) usually Soviet/Russian planes have very faded paint. So I think Humbrol 147 is a good match (and it will look more dark under a black wash).

About the lighter areas, if I'm not wrong (I don't have my references at hand right now) there are some natural metal panels under the rear fuselage.
