The polished aluminum Alclad II instructions say that it is recommended not to use a decal setting solution, but I have always had great success with Micro Sol.
These are Scalemaster decals over a Williams Brother's Electra kit. Of course, I intend to test this on a separate test model, but I'm wondering if anyone may already have experience.

My experience was bad. Both Micro Sol and Set seem to discolor the Alclad (I was using white aluminum) and leave permanent stains if let sit on the paint. I have taken toappling the blue and then reallydrying it out. The red I don use unless I can keep it on the decal. Dave M

Interesting observation there. I've never had a problem with the Red label set but then I've never used White Aluminum either. I've only used Duraluminum or one of the darker shades. I rarely saturate the area but try to keep the setting solution on the decal.
