Gliders and Sailplanes

I have started making some kits of sport gliders and sailplanes (not military/troop carrying gliders). There seems to be two major challenges, finding the kits and placing the orders (over the internet). I have successfully ordered a Horten IV and a Blanik from Squadron.com with no problems, but have had problems with LMShop of Italy and MALA of Germany. LMShop seem to have disappeared from the Internet and MALA sent me an automated acknowledgement but have not followed up by taking payment or shipping the order. Since the MALA site is all in German and I speak only English, I think there may be a language problems. So, my questions are:

Does anyone know a site, preferably English speaking, where I can buy the PZW Siedlce range of 1/72 glider kits, Jantar, Bocian, Foka, etc.?

Has anyone dealt with LMShop or MALA? Do they respond to English Language orders?

Other sites I have found with gliders are Hannants and Luchtvaart Hobby Shop. There are also several sites that sell the Ardpol range of gliders, but they are 1/48 and at the moment I am more interested in

1/72. Does anyone know of other sites that sell 1/72 gliders?

Is anyone aware of 1/72 kits of any Slingsby gliders (other than the Kite, T21 and Cadet), Schleicher K6E or ASW-15, ASK-13, or any other more modern glider.

Thanks for your help

Simon

has had PZW kits of the Bocian, Sep, Gil and Mocha in stock for a while, though I don't know that the website will actually show that. A recent copy of the Small Air Forces Observer will have a listing of available kits at the back, as well as mail order details.

Simon: Like yourself I also have a soft spot for modeling sailplanes and gliders. There are quite a few decent kits available in 1/72. I have a few extra copies of some of the PZW line that I would be willing to sell or trade. I'll try to contact you directly by email also. Regards, Mike

Simon, I was at my local last week and in the model ~railroad~ section I came across a set of Revell molds for an HO scale small-size airport. One box had a terminal and flight controllers' tower, a second had a hanger with a couple of light planes and there were two boxes containing six aircraft each. One box had two Cessna 150s, two Piper Super Cubs and two Piper Cherokees The last box (and of importance to you) contained Two Tow planes (looked to be Cessna 310s, but I don't know) two motor gliders and two sailplanes. Cost was about $8.00, IIRC (not particularly interested, so I didn't note the price) As I said, these were originall Revell molds, but this incarnation was from a different manufacturer but I don't remember who.

Check out the website of 'Modellbaustudio Rhein Ruhr'. This shop comes to the IPMS-NL Nationals every year, and he usually brings a box full of resin gliders models. The shop's site has an incomplete stock list:

The Czechmaster listing shows 24 gliders, and a note says that CRK, Dujin and Huma have gliders too. I don't know whether modern gliders are among the kits offered, most sound like WWII designs to me.

I sold mine to a lady glider enthusiast somewhere in the Bay area. She'd be ecstatic to find there are that many.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I learnt a lot, made some contacts and bought a few kits.
