Hi All:
I hit my local Barnes & Noble today and found a couple of goodies in the magazine section. "After the Battle", #120. Has an article on the career and death of george Preddy. Also covers Preddy's younger Brother who was also killed in action on Mustangs just a few weeks after the Major. Both were killed by groundfire, one American and the other German. The issue also has an article on the SAS in France and an article on the
51st Highland Division in the low countries which is illustrated with a number of photographs that will be of interest to armor modellers. $8.99 U.S."Bomber Command", a Flypast Special from Key publishing. This is a special from the publishers of Flypast Magazine commemorating the R.A.F.'s Bomber Command in World War II. It looks sort of like a miniature "After the Battle" in that it lists all the bomber command airfields and tells what their status is today. It also gives a list of museums with surviving aircraft and artifacts. There is an article on the Dams Raid and another on the Bomber Command Victoria Cross recipients. It is illustrated through out with a nice selection of photographs which will be of interest to modellers as well as history buffs. $9.95 U.S.
