Mosquito Color - Part 2 (and Book)

Just when I thought I had it figured out (illustrations of NE-D showing sky undersides) - I checked the Great Book of WW II Airplanes and PG 348 (Mosquito) shows an illustration of Mk. VI Squadron 143 (NE-A) from Banff with a deck tan underside. Even mentions NE-D and it's mission.

So - not as clear cut as I thought.

By the way, anyone have a Mosquito reference book they'd like to sell?

Thanks.

This example claims to be using Deck Tan but I must admit it doesn't llok much like Deck Tan in the pictures.

Well, it's not Sky blue. He just used the model kit's recommended colors. That doesn't mean they are correct. So..., the only thing left is your paint job...I adhered slavishly to the painting instructions, going even so far as using the recommended Tamiya paints, which for my Banff Wing Mk.VI were XF-54 Dark Sea Grey and XF-55 Deck Tan. Where would the sky be Tan, other than during a wind storm?

What I meant is that it looks quite good (well it doesn't look wrong to me) but at the same time it doesn't look like Deck Tan even though he says that is what he used.

Cheers,

Nigel
