Actually, I've been to this faq and to the site mentioned in the previous post (as well as to every other card modelling site I can find). I realize this list is mostly plastic modellers, but I thought there might be card modeller working under Linux who'd be willing to share their experiences.

I have ventured into some cardmodelling design work using Qcad for the cad part and the Gimp for coloring effects. Both programs need some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it it is big fun. I particularly appreciate the Gimp's multilayer possibilities !
