Re: OT: Irvine = Endangering Our RMS

Note to all who are disturbed by Mr Irvine's diatribe posts:

I don't recall any modeling-related posts from this individual at all and, from the reply posts I've read, this "gentleman" is annoying many with his relentless (and extremely tiring) political diatribes.

He's a bonified, certified, walkin', talkin' rectum, to be sure but you can't stop him from posting whatever he wants on an unmoderated NG. What you can do, however, if his BS really bothers you is o do what I did. Put him in your killfile. Now the only time I see something he posts is when someone cites his post with their reply.

He's a troll; an attention-starved, sad little man who thrives on the attention he gets by annoying others to the point where they respond to his drivel. This is what makes him feel important and, if you put him in your killfile as I did, you won't see his posts and won't be tempted to reply. When he loses the pleasure of eliciting irritated replies from others, he'll go away. Try it...........you'll have a much more pleasurable RMS experinece!

Easy, Bill. Vess promised that his mission will be complete here once he has converted ten (10) President Bush supporters to vote for his 2004 Democratic oppononent.

Surely after all of his inspiring, eye-opening posts over the last month he must be very close.

No?

NOPE I don't need V. I. to help me with politics. MY interest here is learning as much as I can about building and collecting MODELS. Should I have political views that I believe need posting (unlikely as I see those things as personal and private) I'LL DO IT IN THE RIGHT PLACE, where it's on topic. As soon as I learn how to put someone on the kill list, his ass will be so much vaporware. I don't believe that voicing discontent with OT postings is out of order, it should be, on the other hand, the order of the day. Kill list notwithstanding. Bruce Apple

Actually, I was on the fence, even toying with the idea of supporting John 'You know, I served in Vietnam' Kerry. ;-)

But after sobering up, and then assessing the quality of the opposition, the kind of people who oppose Bush so stridently and with such personal venom, I've decided to vote for him after all. I reckon anyone who's pissing off these people so profoundly must be doing something right.

I'm sure the tinfoil statue toppling by the 'usual suspects' (i.e., Socialist Environmentalists, Greens, CND et al.) got more media attention back home than did the pro-Bush rallies held here by Irvine's 'liberal' Scots-Irish huntin'--shootin'--fishin' cousins who didn't have the sense to join his ancestors on the boat to the land of the big PX.

Yet even some of the sociolefties here appear to be having second thoughts. A number of 'elder statesmen' politicos, trade union activists and pundits who oppose Bush politically, yet who had the opportunity to meet with him during his recent UK visit, have commented for the record that he isn't the demon or dumbass some would portray him to be.

Maybe that's because they can see the gap between the liberal values they espouse with such conviction and the way they're actually behaving. Or maybe that's because they realize that their 'stratergy' isn't doing much to further their respective causes.

Actually the media here almost never covers any pro bush news...so I know he's doing his job right

Mr. Irvine has in the past posted material of a modelling nature unlike some others who only show up to expose their political point of view. Just because there are some who feel that his posts do not belong here does not mean he is a troll. Apparently he's trying to get some folks here to think about things they don't want to. Since the freakin' election isn't for 11 months and 20 days I wish he'd slow down. It's like being bombed with Christmas music on the radio right after Hallowe'en. Just my opinion...

Wrong again Woodier:

I go for days not looking at RMS to see these responses. There is no pleasure in the fight to defeat Bush in 2004. No pleasure in Bush either.

RMS is just a tool for political awareness lessons. Certainly annoying you is the least of my concerns.

Hi Bill:

Yes the election is a year away. But the war is NOW. By raising a ruckus about Bush now, perhaps we can infuence and counter his agenda, as well as build towards a November 2004 steamroller.

He's awfully easy to ignore. The main entertainment value comes from watching other people splutter about him.

Hey, a Fruitbat thread! I missed the start, dammit.

We all know that the Fruitbat models are and always will be in glorious

1/53 scale, so none of this 1/72 or 1/48 Bullshit(tm)

So what did I miss? Is Sick or Ski buying out Farley/Farliegh Aeronautical Research Technologies? Are they supporting the NAMBLA chapter in Baghdad now that their friend Saddam is out of power? Is Michael Jackson planning a tour of Iraq looking for little boys? Is he on the board of Sick or Ski AND NAMBLA? I read somehwere that he has the world's largest collection of relief tubes.

This thread is too confusing with all these allegations.

Frank rote:

Heretic! The Asian manufacturer has promised that the kit will be in the everpopular 1/40th scale or Metric 1:30.

As to the rest of your hallucunation, be forwarned that any mention of Ski, Sick or NAMBLA in the same message with the beloved Fruitbat will get your home address given to flyby or AzHozer or (shudder) Vess.

Hydraulically yours, scale operating of course oxmoron1 MFE
