Re: Tamiya 25pdr and quad tractor

The Italeri kit kit has the Chevrolet cab13 .It has a lot of detail .IMHO is a better kit than the Tamiya kit .

The Ford had side valve v8 engine and vertically split differential housings where as the Chevy was fitted with an inline six cylinder engine and had conventional type differential housings .

The Quad was made by both GM and Ford to quite rigid military spec, at a glance the two look almost identical but there are notable differences on the front ends, if you are in Melbourne try heading down the freeway past Traralgon, turn down C105 (Maffra Rd) and a few clicks down the road you'll see a farm with a couple of ex RAAF Chevy Blitz trucks (from which the quads were derived) parked in it... the guy who owns it is a mad keen military vehicle collector and has from memory a couple of the Ford equivalent there also.
