Just got an Airfix Tucano for really cheap- the instructions call for two schemes, the all black with yellow flashes and an all over Humbrol 50% #14
50% #15. As far as I can tell from the Urban Fredriksson color index site, this is some kind of dark blue. Anybody got a line on what color this really is and the BS381 or FS595 number for this?
This sounds like on of the special schemes. IIRC, there was an overall blue aircraft at one time, painted for an anniversary or such.
Humbrol #14 is a very dark navy blue, and #15 is commonly referred to as "French Blue". It's a medium blue similar to what French racing cars wore. The colour you want is midway between these two. I suspect it was mixed specially for the event and has no real BSC equivalent.
Try RAF Roundel Blue on the Friediriksson charts (Xtracolor do it)
