having dealt with the mfa in boston in a different area...museum caretakers and administrators are as moral as car, insurance and snake oil medicinesellers. and they will eat their own young while claiming it was stolen, honest.

i'm not bitter, i didn't deal with the aquisition department. those were the bad people. the mfa has more looted, stolen and shady collections than the louvre.
