Actually, both Aurora and Lindberg made a quarter-scale JN-4.

The Lindberg is a pretty accruate model and readily available at modest prices.

The Aurora tends to be rarer and more expensive but it not as good a model in any event and the Lindberg version is much more desireable as a "builder", the Aurora tending to be more for the kit collectors' clique.

Yeah, me too. I try to hold it to around $100 on a boxed kit. That's sort of the price of admission to 1/32 these days...though I did snag a

1/32 Tamiya Zero from Model Expo for $40 some time ago...that why I watch them.

Aside from being a USN aviation fan, I think an A-1 would be a good choice as it's got legs in both the USN and the USAF. While the 'greenhouse' variants would be problematic, there is enough variation in the marque to warrant a good, hard look by Trumpeter, or - remembering the terrific job they did with the Phantom - Tamiya (fingers crossed)... Even Revell, as they did a fine effort with their RF-4C and Tornado.

And if it is injection molded, sooner or later someone will swear that they have seen such a kit on the shelves of their favorite hobby store. Right next to the now legendary C-5....

Why would a greenhouse Skyraider be problematic? It was also flown by both the USN and USAF. All that would be necessary is engineering the kit with upper fuselage, wheel well and vertical tail insert options and you could do just about any version.

There's also a 1/32 vac F-80. I too would like to see a T-33 tho.

Did Lindberg not make a 1/48 Jenny?

Revell had a 1/72 Stearman.

Lindberg did make a 1/48 Jenny - I'm looking at the box in the stash right now. That and the Stearman. Both of those would be really nice in 1/24! It would be neat to have them done so as to see some of the rustic cockpit detail of the day. BobbyG
