Hi Me (strange opening)
Open up the template You wanna modify.....rmb in the middle somewhere and take "edit sheet format"...do Your changes and then go to "file / save sheet format", save it in the same folder as Your templates but with new name. Then add Your document properties and save template with approperiate name. Go to tools options "file locations" and point to the right directory / folder for Your templates. Long time since I did it but I think it's the right order
