Surface Intersect

I have a circle a certain distance from a flat surface. I would like to extrude the circle to the surface, so that the cylinder created is capped off, but where it intersects the flat surface there is a hole. This is so I can fillet the capped surface and the intersection point with the flat surface. Then I want to thicken to have a uniform solid body. What is the best way to do this in Solidworks without a temendous amount of steps?

Using the "flat Surface" mentioned as your sketch plane create a new surface with no hole and use that new surface to extrude up to.

The "flat surface" is actually a non-planar surface. I used "flat surface to try to keep it simple. I would like the cylinder to create the hole in the "flat surface", but the cylinder needs to be capped and hollow, to allow me to join the two and then thicken.

OK then, how'bout Offset surface 0 (copy surface) and then untrim the hole in the copied surface and use that?

I got it. Extrude the cylinder past the "flat surface", then delete the face in the end of the cylinder that went past. Do a mutual trim and pick the faces to keep.
