Model This!

Really a nasty one. I often ride past this stretch of track on my motorcycle jaunts.

Which reminds me: the last time I rode down that way I passed a unique 50' boxcar that had been set out on a siding. The roof was bowed upwards about two feet in the center, and the floor was likewise bowed downwards. The sides were bowed outwards, the ends ditto, and both doors were completely *gone*, giving the strong impression that something powerful had exploded inside the car and stopped just short of turning the whole thing into shrapnel.

Interesting potential modeling project!

They're there but you can only view the first two. After that you have to register. See the bottom link just over the byline.

I think he's asking for pics of the warped boxcar, but there are none as I don't carry a camera with me on the bike.

Yes, I was. Why not?

You just march yourself into the nearest camera store and buy one, mister. I want pictures!

Why don't I carry a camera? Because putting an expensive and delicate piece of machinery into a situation where it might have to go pavement surfing is contra-indicated.

Alright, then it'll be OK with me if you just buy one of those disposable jobbies. Me want pictures!

Then carry a *cheap* camera on your bike or even a cellphone camera. Yes, the photo quality will less than great, but it is better than nothing.

Uh, but I don't *want* to have to carry a camera on the bike with me at all. The purpose of going for a motorcycle ride is the pleasure of the ride itself, and distractions or complications detract from that.

Besides; life continues right on happening whether you document it or not.

Shucks; I was looking forward to some pictures of that bent boxcar. And I could've traded you some really kewl photos from a /Mainline Modeler/ article, showing a couple of tank cars loaded with propane burning and then exploding at Kingman, Arizona. Oh, well.
