Hi Folks.

I've finally managed to have some productive time in the workshop over the last few nites. The Lister Q is now stripped to the bare block and off the trolley. I've taken this opportunity to finish the trolley off while the engine is in managable lumps. it has now been painted and new handle bars made up from round bar. All that remains to do is make spacers for the wheels then the block can be fixed back to it and the rebuild can start. The main problem to be sorted out is the gudgeon pin it's slack in the piston and a new one will need to be made. But appart from that it seems in good shape. we'll hopefully have it ready for stotfold mill in a few weeks time :-).

Gary... chassis looks good ;-) the bamford SD4 is coming along well its amazing how much origanal paint is left once cleaned up, the old man has been trying out various potions to shine the finsh up, the chassis is progress well we hope to have her running soon , I had to free the fuel pump of as it had gummed up with standing so long it is OK now which i am releaved about as i did not fancy finding a new one, will post some picys soon.

Hi Bob, Best thing I have found to shine up old patinated paint is to wash down thoroughly with thinners, then paint over it with Linseed Oil mixed with a bit of thick oil - seems to semi-harden to a nice satin finish, but will remove with white spirits etc if required. . No progress on my pump projects recently due to events and parties, but I'm hoping to get the big Tangye sorted for Stotfold with a compressor so Gary doesn't have to start it ;-) I'll send you a note off list about the Tangye jack. Cheers Dan

Well Lads ,

My Father and I are flat out working on the 1040 at the minute .

Half the Engine is in Primer , and the trolley is about 80% done . Just have to bolt the Steel to the Timber and give it a few coats of varnish and its finished then we can concentrate on the Engine.

A friend has made me 2 Very good copies of Crossley Carb needles - So that's a problem out of the way .

Will post pics up when ive time.

It's nice to hear everyone is getting on with there projects, i'm looking forward to seeing some of them in action later in the season. Dan I dont mind starting the big tangye you'll have to get on to Martin about making one of his special Tangye starting handles :-).

Finally got one of the New Old stock Tangye pumps finished and test ran it today, pictures in the usual place.The 3.1/4" should be finished in the next few weeks.

Pic's with it been run on the Air cooled 2HP Bamford and the bigger 4HP. Fifth pic shows the Tangye pumps all together on the day they arrived. Still a few to part with, if interested drop me line of group.
