Hi Nick, An interesting engine, and the original bears more than a passing resemblence to an air-cooled Robinson X-type engine...

Do you imagine that stable stratification would occur during the inlet half-stroke or that the following exhaust half-stroke would push out as much fresh charge as exhaust gas?
