An American engine collector friend has told me that he has been told that the Bamford family (Engines & JCB) was involved in the history of Gwrych castle. Even though I have known Gwrych for years I know of no connection between the Bamford family in Uttoxeter & the Bamford-Hesketh family of Gwrych. Does anyone know if there is anything in what he has been told? TIA
