What Pulllman is realy typical of the 1960's railway scene? Around here it was nothing but second-class corridor coaches but all modellers seem interested-in is first-class diners.

I beg to differ, my exhibition model is set anywhere between 1960's to present day and not one coach appears on it. It is all wagons....and locos. (I may add a 108 DMU shortly though)
Did you mean modellers as in Hornby\Bachmann etc ? Rather than "us" at this end ?
Andy
According to bits I've read on the Mk1 coach bogies, they rode acceptably when new but the ride deteriorated with wear and wasn't easily repaired.
Which seems some how ironic as FM Rail have gone into administration!
Hope its not an omen!!
By the time any new livery has arrived from China it's already been replaced by something else. I'm told it's the same with fashion items. You can't make them in China because the delays are so long.

'Blue Pullman consisting of an ex-Lima 47 and Mk2 coaches sounds just like a re-issue of old models to me.

Pretty sure they had 3rd class on Pullmans.

In general yes, but not on the particular pullman referred to, the 'Midland Pullman' was first only. Keith
