Lighting a diesel

Anyone got a good link for a how-to on lighting a DCC-equipped diesel? I want to fit running lights to my Deltic, following the huge popularity of a lit guard's van with certain small boys.

Following close behind, is there an easy / cheap way to light coaches without permanently connecting them together?

Can't help with a link for lighting a Deltic (should have come factory fitted of course, this is 2004 after all...) but this will help you with coaches:

(there's a how-to and wiring diagram that gives enough information for you to build your own if the expense is seen as too much)

I can't help with the electronics, but if you want to light the domino headbox, I can help (having done this on my BR Blue Bachy Deltic). Drop me an email if I can be of help.

wires from the plug and hardwire to the lights (this one is untidy and a last ditch). You have a choice of using grain of wheat bulbs or LEDs . LEDs will require a resistor and wired so that the current flows the right way. Do'n't forget the blue wire on the decoder is a common positive. Grain of wheat bulbs being tungstens will get very hot, there are configuration values to dim them but I am having no success on this (My fault not the system). With DCC lighting on coaches, follow the same rules on bulbs/LEDs. Each coach can supply its own lighting current. You can put a function only decoder on each coach but that is a dear do.
