Wrenn BR Mk1 horsebox query

May 31, 2006 3 Replies

I've just acquired the bodyshell, sans doors, of the Wrenn BR Mk1 horsebox. Since the underframes of such items (eg: the Triang GWR one) are usually as hopeless as the shells are good, this is not necessarily a loss, and it will become a "sometime" project.

However I don't own a copy of the Keith Parkin book on BR1 stock, and didn't photocopy the horsebox details from the copy I borrowed, on the grounds that I was never likely to see or own a model of something so obscure. Like you do. Google searches have drawn a blank of one in service so does anyone know of any online pics of one? Is one preserved anywhere? Were the rolling components essentially Mk1 coach bits on a fixed chassis, or something quite different?

You could try buying the N Gage Society kit -I have not seen it myself but I gather its quite good - Just a thought.
