Keys for KIA

Well, this is a bit of a first for me, a cry for help (sort of). Had to make keys to code for a KIA car this afternoon. Code # Y2391 cuts 23123244 according to instacode and Reed codes, but neither programs had the ITL number for my ITL 950 machine. What a sh*t, I had to go about it the long way. Seems very odd that both programs displayed the ITL number as a blank. ??. Anyone out there know what the ITL number is for KIA cars ?? Thanks guys.

Not sure, but I would check other Korean and Japanese listings to see if the depth and spacing are the same. If not, didn't they give you a way to add new keys? I can do that with my Code Pro.

Steve...

This might help you in the future.

Thanks Roger, yes, that's what I meant, I had to make up my own number and set the machine up to KIA specs. Been quite a few years since I have had to do this, lucky I kept the instruction book, probably would have been quicker to impression the thing. Funny, the car was only a couple of years old and in reasonable condition. The owners (Aboriginal / Islander natives) lost their last key, the car was locked up at the rear of the local Pub, so they tried to open it with a crow bar jammed in the door frame. Did at least 2 grand worth of damage before they called me. These things open in about 2 seconds using a 'slim' hair dryer. Thanks everyone for your input on the subject. Cheers.

sorry, depths were NOT wrong according to Genericode.

Thanks Dennis, tried both these ITL numbers, my machine rejected both #'s. ITL 520 = "too many cuts" & ITL251=No info. Go figger ? ........ Not to worry, I made my own ITL#. Thanks.
