Please quote where anyone said that. Most of what you have stated is without logical basis and you have left it unsupported. Your argument boils down to: Since a security measure can be defeated and some people know how to and are proficient at defeating it the security measure is without merit. If that were true there would be little reason for anyone to lock there house or car at all.

If true a pity for your customers since you know so little about security related matters.

Yet further proof that you have no clue what you are talking about. With every post it becomes more obvoious.

I think what he's trying to say is that the insurance company may not remimburse if you leave the door unlocked and they walk right in. That's about the only thing in his argument that may be true.

Thanks for the compliment. However I am, at most, a semi-pro, and there are many areas of locksmithing/security in which I have no experience and so can be considered an amateur in those areas. (I just want to keep the record straight.)

well, any professional knows that the club is a joke. however, it has its purpose. that purpose is what seems to be so hard for some to understand.

I know its purpose... But the main point I was trying to drive home was that it's a joke... I obviously failed... But at least we agree.

What is a joke to figure out for one person may be difficult for another. It can be dangerous when making recomendations to assume that all those or even a good many of those who might want to compromise something know what you do as a locksmith. I don't think any knowledgable person would say that the club and similar are any gaurantee against your car being stolen. However w/o the right tools and knowledge they will stop someone cold, in some cases from even trying, which is important because a hopelessly inept thief can do alot of damage without ever really having a chance of getting away with the car. When it comes to some newer cars which offer reasonably good security against car theft I would say that the club and similar probably make little difference against someone who actually has the skill to steal the vehicle, unless of course the thief is someone who has managed to obtain a working key for the vehicle in question. See what I wrote above about deterring the wannabees who will just destroy everything thinking they have a chance. But when you are talking about older and/or less inherently secure models I would say some models of "club" can offer a significant deterent to the unsophisticated thief with a hammer and screwdriver. I imagine that this is more or less what you had in mind when you said it has it's uses.
