Why did get out of hand like that? 0The dues & launch fees should of covered all the expenses each & every year. Now the BoD is looking to recoupe their losses.

If they had there would have been no need to make any changes. Look at it another way. We are dealing with a multimillion dollar corporation that has almost zero tolerance from problems coming from an income source ($1800 a year) that doesn't even cover their attorneys salaries for reviewing the contracts or the executive officers who sign the contracts we submit every year.

The "They" are people who never lend a hand, who drive on farmers crops and showing such disdain for safety and Tripoli launch rules that their behavior prompted a visiting TAP member to write a letter to the membership basically calling them the worst group of people he has ever been around.

There are a lot of good people too, but it is the few bad ones that are the ones causing most of the problems.

In all honesty, it is complex because of where we are at. We are a 30 minute drive from downtown Boston. In the landing zone used by Logon Airport. We are in a field that every environmental screwball is trying to find a reason to get the state to take it over and cause the owners trouble. The Audubon whacko are sneaking around waiting for us to hit some hummingbird, so they can cause a stink.

Yes it is complicated. We are in Ben Laden Country for God's sake. These people hate high tech but will tax it to death to support weird programs that only retarded liberals could dream up. Hell there were people in this state who were happy about 911. On person's exact words were "it is time that this evil nation get what it deserves."

Yea it is too bad that the great safety record didn't stop that guy from flying a hybrid sideways across the field and crashing it where some RC fliers were, causing the fire department to come. The flaming mess landed near a birthday party with small children. Or how about that time that the monstrous PVC pipe rocket plummeted to earth just a short distance from the flightline. It crashed despite the owner boasting of multiple deployment devices. Or what about that time when that guy blew this hybrid to bits and spewed debris everywhere because he was too incompetent to figure out the technology. Or what about the time that the same guy went to another local club and purposely lawndarted a vidroc to get some good footage.

The funny thing is that the person responsible for all of these dangerous flights was YOU. Maybe the ridiculous club rules are going to protect the club from YOU.

PS - Breaking the waiver on your Level 3 cert is not something to brag about.

That sucks. We lost our old launch site after 13-14 years because some environuts decided we were too close to the big horn sheep preserve and pressured the BLM. (Target shooting's still allowed though -- go figure!) Stinking tree-huggers are a blight on humanity.
