Hi all,
I am just getting back into model rocketry. I want to scratch build a launch pad. I want something more than just sticking a stiff piece of wire in the ground. Does anyone know of some plans for a simple launch pad?
Thanks, Mr. B.

There's a thread on The Rocketry Forum about making an old camera tripod into a launch pad:
H> Hi all,
One of the guys in the local club has a pad made from a tripod and a Harbor Freight Jacobs chuck. With the chuck, you can easily switch between rod sizes. Several years ago I caught a sale at Musician's Friend (web site) and ordered several inexpensive folding music stands. One of these made an excellent folding pad too.
My own launch pad was built by my father over 40 years ago; it's a modified surveyors theodolite. Same principle, of course.
I use a strainer post put in the middle of a paddock. the 3m pole is attached using three large metal hose clips
