I think there's an ointment for that now.

To the extent members forward me copies of TRA listserv posts (and ironically NOT any of the "usual suspects" do), even well respected long time members with clear suggestions on how to lower costs, improve services, solve the HPR magazine problem/debacle and solve the bad ATF policy problem/debacle are rebuffed by the many enculturated apologists on the TRA list.

It seems this ethic/culture is highly resistent to change and especially positive chage.

Well, I wasn't a founding prefect, but becoming one is what put a target on MY butt as well. Ditto for at least one other ex-tra member.

You think only one person joined on the Discovery special? Before the show aired, I said that this AD would bring in a bunch of new dissatisfied TRA members, the minute they encountered a single month of no magazine. of course, it didn't exactly take a crystal ball to figure that one out...
