He joined TRA -also- and was ELECTED to a position (kinda makes you wonder who headed for the hills).

His request seems well reasoned. The "TRA transaction" is separate and distinct from any other transaction he might also undertake such as with NAR, NRA, IEAS, even his own local club.

Seems black and white to me.

Whatever you posted was encoded, not plain text. Which means I can't see it, nor can anyone else who has sense enough to stick with text.

When I joined TRA, right around the beginning of 2001, my membership application went through in a few weeks, and when I sent in my certification sheet for level 2 (I already had level 1 via NAR, so my TRA membership started at level 1) and applied for a new card, that came promptly also. I never tried to subscribe to the magazine, so I can't say anything about that one way or the other, but with respect to processing membership stuff, at least, the TRA HQ operation seemed to have its act together.

If that's starting to deteriorate, too...

I REALLY hate to do this here, BUT besides the application and funds paid there have been 3 unanswered emails RE: membership status and the magazine. Time for someone to WAKE UP...... I hope other Discovery channel viewers have faired better than I have......

On 12/15/2003 I PAID for my TRA membership and a magazine subscription via PAYPAL. Discovery Channel Special Valid for new members only, membership must be received by Dec 31, 2003. This special offer is for 6 months membership in Tripoli along with a 6 months subscription from High Power Rocketry magazine.

Being the newly elected PRESIDENT of TRA prefecture 94 I feel it is important to support the TRA organization BY first joining and then by helping other to understand what TRA is about and getting them to join. Presently, I'm thinking REFUND..... and NOT RECRUITING others to join........I hope we can change this........

Please process the membership, send the magazine.....OR send a REFUND check......

Apologies if this PUBLIC note rubs anyone the wrong way but accepting payment and NOT providing the services paid for in the time stated rubs me the wrong way, compounded by ZERO communication...... TRA simply must do better in this area if the support of the membership is expected in the future.

It must be a "MARS" (NAR) thing... ahem... but what does Bob's issue with his TRA membership have to do with the NAR?

Note that I don't have any problems with the NAR or TRA... mainly because I don't look for them.

It is interesting the WEBMASTER has to get involved KNOWING FULL WELL the magazines have not been delivered as agreed and now knowing the guy didn't even get his membership pack or even any correspondence through normal channels.

The original poster's point is valid. The system is broke.

NOT PREFECT, CLUB PRESIDENT PREFECT has to be a TRA member for 1 year or more...
