Quickburst shut down by BATFE

There is a simple remedy to this all. Allow rocketeers to keep reasonable amounts of engines and or engine components on hand to participate in our hobby period.

We all know the gasoline we keep in our garages for our lawn mowers is more dangerous than APCP motors or motor components.

Federal law allows one to keep 50lbs. of BP on hand. Yes I know local laws vary. Ooops I forgot, you have to use it for guns and BP shooting.

Ken, this may have unfolded slower than you thought, but that is typical American application of social engineering. Look at how America has enacted the rule of law in the country -- had they tried to become the Thought Police overnight, the ordinary citizen might have grumbled more than usual. By the incremental erosion of rights, they have systemically installed their controls over us without a major upheaval in the populace at large.

True. And I'm not in the least bit unhappy about the slow pace.

Because...there is no doubt in my mind that this country is headed straight towards the gates of hell. The only real question I had left was exactly when I should start spelling it Amerika. But that became obsolete when the North American Union was officially ok'ed last month. 2010 and it's not even Amerika anymore. It's already over folks. Party while you still can. Enjoy your Bill of Privileges before even that gets revoked. It's all downhill to the bitter end from here. Unless you like being treated like livestock.

That's the way it looks to me. So I'll fight for my freedom all the way down, through every cycle of measure and countermeasure in rocketry, NAIS(chips for livestock), GPS tracking of my vehicle, privacy, whatever. By 'fight' I mean nonviolent noncompliance with those trying to herd me where they want.

I non-renewed my LEUP a couple years ago. I won't be getting another. I will however as my limited time and money permit go back to working on technologies for hobby rocketry that avoid entanglements with ATF. Until they simply outlaw rockets per se without a federal permit. Then, well, I guess I'll burn that bridge behind me when I cross it.

So the slower it all goes toward totalitarianism, the longer I have to continue pretending I'm a free citizen of a free country. With any luck I'll die of old age first. But somehow I don't think it's going to work out like that. The bastards are winning and good gentle folk are losing most every time now. It's getting harder and harder to tell our bastards from their bastards, the good bastards from the bad bastards.

I just want to live my life and fly rockets in peace. To much to ask, apparently.

Ken, the bottom line is that they are all bastards. The North American Union is truly depressive news. And we can all thank the successful dumbing down of Americans and their care-free attitude. What? Me worry?

Worry about that? Ignorance is bliss, and we have a nation full of blissful people. People who get more angry when their football team loses than when the government takes another percentage of their rights.

Err, privileges.
